India’s top scientific institution, IISc, is going to research how aging affects the organs of Indians and find ways to intervene early to improve their overall health as they grow older.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has launched ‘Longevity India’, an initiative to study the causes of health problems in elderly people and find ways to improve their health. India recently became the world’s most populous country, and by 2050, it is projected to have over 310 million people above the age of 60. The initiative will focus on identifying early signs of diseases, studying biomarkers of aging, and developing new treatments and technologies for healthy aging.
