Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has fined violators over Rs. 1.11 crore for pollution-related complaints received through the Swachh Mumbai WhatsApp Helpline. The majority of complaints were about unclean premises under the Swachh Angan program. The highest number of complaints were from areas like Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, Andheri, Jogeshwari, Vile Parle, Deonar, Mankhurd, Pydhonie, and Bhuleshwar. The BMC has also fined for unauthorized dumping of construction debris and open burning of garbage. The BMC has generated over Rs. 6 lakh in fines for uncovered C&D waste.
