The head of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian IT company, has said that artificial intelligence (AI) will lead to a reduced need for call centres in about a year. The CEO of TCS, K Krithivasan, explained that AI adoption will change the customer help centres that currently employ many people in countries like India. He believes that chatbots will be able to analyze customer transaction history and perform most of the tasks currently done by call centre agents.
